6 Recipes for Valentine’s Day

If you plan to cook a special at home, don’t miss these 6 Recipes for Valentine’s Day that I’m sharing today. They are not too difficult to make and they look fab. I’ve made all of them myself and I linked to the recipes.

6 Recipes for Valentine's Day

The first one is Strawberry and Basil Eton Mess. It is very easy to make and it looks just great. If you don’t find good ripe strawberries, you can replace them with other fruits, like raspberries.

Next, Mousse Au Chocolat, a recipe I’ve made using Michel Roux’s recipe. It is stunning and I’ve made it a lot of times. If you want to make it even more special, use chilli chocolate or any flavoured chocolate. It will be amazing. Make sure you are using high quality chocolate as it will make a difference to the dessert.

The third recipe is Boozy Panna Cotta with Dark Chocolate. It can be made in advance and kept in the fridge, so that means less faff when it comes to serving the food. The pairing of dark chocolate and alcohol makes it just perfect for a special occasion like Valentine’s Day.

Savarin, a less known dessert is my next pick for this round-up. This dessert is very popular in Romania and one of my husband’s favourite, so this is why I might have chosen it. The dough is nice to work with and it will take the shape of the moulds, thus you can use an intricate mould and the dessert will be stunning.

The 5th recipe is for biscuits. These can be a fun little addition and they would be great as a snack for work too. Read my post on how to make the perfect glass biscuits and you’ll be able to make fab looking glass biscuits as well. If you don’t have loads of time or you haven’t made biscuits recently and don’t want to do it now, you can buy a ready made biscuit dough from the supermarket and leave them white with some red glass inside. They will look great either way.

My last recipe is for Black Forest Dessert. It looks amazing and it’s not very hard to make either. You can make it even more simpler if you skip the chocolate mousse and just make the jelly with whipped cream. For the jelly, do use agar agar, it will set faster than with regular gelatine.

Do you plan to prepare the food at home on this occasion? What do you think of my round-up of 6 Recipes for Valentine’s Day?

  1. Oh Anca, your Valentine is a very lucky man. All these desserts look scrumptious. I’d be happy with any of them on any given day, not just for Valentine’s day.
