What’s cooking #2

Last month I was so busy with work that I didn’t have lots of time to spend in the kitchen, so I posted only my recipe of homemade popcorn. This month I cooked a lot and I tried lots of new and exciting things, so I’m so keen to write this post.

fresh pasta
The most exciting thing was trying my new pasta making machine. I loved it. It’s so easy to use and the pasta is so much better than the shop bought one. I’ve made sweet ravioli and the mushroom pasta that is in the next picture and lasagna. I can’t wait to try new types of dough, with semolina, basil, parsley, sundried tomatoes and spinach. I will try new shapes too. It’s so much fun to make pasta.

fresh pasta spaghetti
The fresh spaghetti I’ve made with mushrooms and white sauce.

Matcha-biscuits-recipe
Another thing I tried this month was matcha green tea powder. I’ve baked with it 3 times and it’s fab. I’ve made matcha biscuits, scones and fruit loaf. There are so many other things to do, I have a huge list of recipes with matcha to try.

apple crumble
Apple crumble, a delicious and easy to make recipe with lots of fruits and not a lot of added sugar.

chickpea
We really love houmous, as you can tell. I bought 6 cans a couple of months ago and now I have to go and buy some more.

white chocolate mousse
White chocolate mousse, a trial. I think it needed more agar (gelatin), so after I’ll try it again for a couple of time I’m going to share the recipe.

I’ve made mash potatoes, lots of salads, a smoothie, a pineapple upside down cake, scones with Toffee Nakd nibbles, sweet potato curry and wild rice with turmeric, an apples tray bake with walnuts.

What did you cook this month?

  1. These all look so yummy! The matcha biscuits sound great, and they look delicious. I haven’t cooked anything in the past month, I’ve literally been living off microwave meals because of my working hours – I’m looking forward to being able to eat a proper meal soon!!
