SoLita Preston

A few days ago I was invited to SoLita Preston for the launch of their new 150 cover private dining room. The Solita has four sites in Manchester’s Norther Quartern, Prestwich, Didsbury and most recently Preston. Even though Preston is close to us, it was the first time we’ve been there. The town is lovely and the park near the restaurant is beautiful, especially at night, with the lights on.

SoLita Preston is located in a beautiful building with very nice features, over two storeys.

The decor in the private dinning room is beautiful, on the wall from the entrance is a map with the SoLita restaurants marked and the names of bigger cities and towns in the area. I liked it a lot. When the door closes the map is complete, I like that attention to details. I think it’s a great place for a big party.

I think my favourite thing from the menu was this vegan burger. It’s made daily, in house, from 4 types of beans, along with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and vegan cheese. It was very popular with the others too. I heard someone saying that it’s their favourite burger and she doesn’t even like beans. It’s what I will order next time I’m at SoLita.

Another amazing dish were these Mac&Cheese balls, deep fried. I had no idea there is such a thing and now I want to have it again and again. Crunchy on the outside and soft and cheesy in the middle, also not oily. I loved them!

As the vegetarian options were as popular as the others, we had a special platter made for us. I loved the guacamole, the tortilla chips, the vegetarian Cheeseburger spring rolls, another dish I would love to have again. Halloumi bites, obviously delicious as anybody would assume.

Deep fried cookie dough. Well that is something I would never order from a menu. I tried it and it was fab. It has chocolate sauce and whipped cream on top. In the menu it has ice cream and I think both versions are just as delicious.

The park I mentioned earlier. Isn’t it just beautiful?

We were invited to Solita, all opinions are my own.

  1. I live in Preston and agree that the park is gorgeous – it’s in Winckley Square and it’s a gorgeous area. The city of Preston has so many different and unique places to eat and I’d love to check out Solita.
