Today is a special day at Metquarter as Everyman Cinema opens its doors to the public. In the last two days I’ve been to Everyman Cinema twice, once to see a movie and yesterday for the VIP launch party. I’m going start talking about the party and after that about the cinema experience.
This is me after the launch party with a pretty lovely goodie “bag”, with some treats for watching movies. You might not know this, but my husband loves watching movies, so we have a home cinema system, with 4 speakers that create surround sound and a projector. After going a couple of times at the movies, we stopped, as it’s much nicer to see the movies at home, sitting comfy on the sofa. But, after seeing two movies at Everyman Cinema, we both said we are going to go to the movies again to see new releases, because the whole experience is just amazing.
This is Screen 3, from 4, and it is the biggest. Here is where we’ve watched the movie, but more about that at the end of the post. As you can see, the cinema boasts of luxury with very comfortable sofas and armchairs and plenty of space to stretch your legs. If you want to know more or maybe book tickets, go to their website.
Screen 2 is smaller and differently decorated, but with the same very comfortable sofas. I looked at the prices and they range from £10.50 to £12.50. I think that is pretty good value for money.
Screen 4 is upstairs, the smallest, thus suitable for private hire. It has a small bar area, as you can see in the next picture. I think that is great for corporate events.
Screens 1, 2, and 3 have a bar area, where customers can have something to drink and to eat. They can also see Metquarter from the bar area at Everyman Cinema. I think it’s quite a lovely view.
Now, let’s talk about the drinks. I definitely recommend Raspberry Candy Fizz, it has some delicious candy floss on top. Doesn’t it look just fab?
At the VIP party we were entertained by DJ Yoda. It was really nice, but we’ve had to leave earlier, to see one of the two movies that were on preview at the cinema.
We went to see Green Book, the release date for UK is 1st February 2019. It was very exciting to see a movie way before its release day. I’ve enjoyed it so much, it’s a lovely film, that I would recommend watching. It is about a working-class Italian-American bouncer that becomes the driver of an African-American classical pianist on a tour of venues through the 1960s American South.
The first movie I’ve seen at Everyman Cinema was Bohemian Rhapsody. I was very excited about it and I did love the movie. I like Queen a lot, one of their songs being one of my favourite songs ever: I Want To Break Free. We’ve ordered our drinks and someone brought the drinks to us. That, in addition to those comfy sofas, is what makes me want to go to see movies at Everyman.
Everyman Cinema Liverpool is at Metquarter, 35 Whitechapel, L1 6DA.
I’ve not been to an Everyman yet but I’ve heard great things. Looks so comfy!
I haven’t seen Bohemian Rhapsody yet but, if ever there was a place to see it, it’s here! Love the screen with the sofas and chairs. It’s a bit like HOME in Manchester. 😆
I like the look of the bar, great for privat hire. I loved Bohemian Rhapsody, such a great film! Queen have so many good songs 🙂
I’ve never been in a movie theater that fancy and it looks wonderful! We don’t have a fancy set-up at home, but still prefer to watch here rather than go to the cinema. In fact, the last I remember seeing there was one of the early Hunger Games installments.
I’ve seen previews for Green Book, so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it. Same for Bohemian Rhapsody.
