Wallingford fireworks

This year for Bonfire night we went to see the Walingford fireworks display. I was so impressed by everything. There were 3 bonfires and 2 fireworks displays. The bonfires started at about 6 and people, looked like thousands, could walk around, buy some food and drinks. We found some vegan hot dogs, so it was really lovely.

There were 2 fireworks displays. One at about 7, for children, with less bang, but still very good. A break was taken, so young children could be taken home. Not all did that, but it was great to have that option. After that it was the main event, which lasted for about 20 minutes or so. I didn’t look at the time, as I had lower expectations. Wallingford is a lovely historic market town, but it is small. There were a lot of people from other nearby villages and towns, maybe from Oxford as well, as it’s a short drive from there. 1155 is the date the town was established, which appears on firepits.

Enjoy the pictures!

    1. I don’t think we can always think at the environment and live a happy, fulfilling life. This would mean giving up on travelling (not only with the car, as all means of transportation have a big footprint), buying anything that is for fun, and so on. We should do what we can, and with being vegan, that makes a big difference. I also wouldn’t fly only for a couple of days, except for work or study. So far, in the last 15 years, when I flew somewhere, it was for a week or even more.

The fireworks were incredible. With such a small town, I had low expectations, but it is clear why people from around come to these fireworks. It was really great. It was someone from Wallingford, US as well. In Connecticut, that town is 4 times bigger (per population) than Wallingford UK. 😀
