Usually I write about LightNight after the event, but this year I’ve decided to blog in advance if my readers want to “Do something brilliant on a Friday night”. The arts and culture event is in its sixth year and will take place in 2 weeks, on Friday 15th May from 4pm until late.
This year 50 locations are involved and over 100 organizations. Most of the venues are the well known tourist attractions like Walker Art Gallery, St George’s Hall, The Bluecoat, FACT and Liverpool Cathedral. Have a look on their website for the events prepared this year.
I’ve been for the last 3 years and I’ve enjoyed it every time. Take a look in my archive at Lightnight, here are a few pictures from every year.

Anca I heard about this for the first time last week, how fantastic. I am hoping we can go .
It’s really great. Every year each location is doing something different.
I’ve never been able to get to LightNight – it’s always fallen on a weekend where I’m working 14hr days. Hopefully this year is different. It looks like you’ve had a great time at previous events, hopefully this year will be just as good!
Maybe you’ll have the time, I’m sure you would like it xx
