We stayed at the Hall Garth Hotel in Darlington, County Durham, for Kynren, the pageant I talked about earlier. Because this place is so beautiful and it surely is a destination in itself, I’ve decided to share a lot of pictures and only short descriptions, when needed. For me this hotel was fantastic and I would love to go there again.
This is the restaurant. There is a main building and the stables where are the standard rooms. There is a golf course and a gym with a swimming pool.
We got the superior double room, but it was a mix-up when we checked-in. In the same day a person with a similar name checked-in and the lady from the reception misunderstood who we were. I took pictures of the standard room, which you will see later in the post, and we went to ask about something and at that point it was clear we were in the wrong room. So, we moved to the room we booked. The lady was so accommodating and helpful, it was no problem at all.
The superior room is so big, it’s really fantastic. In the morning I got up to the sound of birds singing, it was lovely.
The view from the room is fantastic too.
This is the standard room. It’s smaller, but it’s in the stables building, so plenty of character. I would have liked to stay in that room without any doubt.
The bathroom for the standard room was a bit too small, that would have been my only negative.
The view from the standard room looked perfect too.
Outside there are plenty of places to explore.
The restaurant is lovely too. The staff was always helpful and friendly.
They did their best to make a vegan breakfast and I fully appreciate that. They had vegan sausages and made a version of English breakfast.
The lounge was lovely, well cleaned and beautiful decorated. I spent half an hour in the mornings in there, reading with a cup of coffee.
Hall Garth Hotel is in Coatham Mundeville, Darlington, DL1 3LU. It is close to Bishop Auckland. Darlington is very close and it’s easy to find parking. There are shops and restaurants to pick from.
This looks like a wonderful place to stay. I’m loving those beams!![My Profile](https://ancaslifestyle.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/commentluv/images/littleheartplus.png)

What a great place to visit! I can imagine how this would be a wonderful getaway location, even without other attractions to pull you there.![My Profile](https://ancaslifestyle.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/commentluv/images/littleheartplus.png)

Yes, I agree. I always saw hotels as somewhere to sleep, not a destination in themselves, but this one is a destination too. I loved walking around, reading in the lounge or in the restaurant when it was quiet. I would love to go back.
Also, I forgot to mention in the post, there were people playing golf as early as 7.30 – 8.00 am! I loved seeing them having a lovely time.
