Celebrations Life

Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is on 8th March and we celebrated it as we are doing every year. This year I got a bunch of flowers from hubby, chrysanthemums, as usual. We had cake and we’ve been out. I wanted to go for a day in Blackpool, but in the morning it rained. We went to Blackpool late in the afternoon, after the rain stopped.

I wanted to try Oreo cookie&cream cake, as I saw it a few times at Cake Boss. I thought Women’s Day is a good opportunity to try it. I bought some Oreo biscuits and cream and baked a sponge. It’s delicious and very easy to make.

We’ve spent a lazy morning indoors, while we’ve waited for the rain to pass. In the afternoon, happy that it finally stopped and the sun was shinnying, we jumped in the car and drove to Blackpool.
I didn’t have high expectations as I know its history and I didn’t think it was something that I would love. I prefer old, historic places. I was wrong, I loved it, Blackpool is colourful and fun. There are a few castle-like hotels or intense colours like pink, blue and in a strange way, they go together in a beautifuly. Loved the Tower too, a replica of the Eiffel Tower, half the size of the real one.

I can’t wait to visit again Blackpool, the arcades, the Pleasure Beach and all the others attractions.

  1. The cake looks so so good! I’d love to have a go at making one.

I haven’t been to Blackpool in years but I fancy a trip to the Pleasure Beach. Perhaps it will be a summer adventure. 🙂
