Monkey Forest

We’ve been to Monkey Forest twice and we both had an amazing time. So, this week we’ve visited them again. If I lived in Stoke-on-Trent I would have bought a membership. But, we’re not, so I took advantage of the fact that my husband had a meeting nearby to convince him seeing the monkeys is a must. Enjoy the pictures. If you want to know more, check my posts from 2014 and 2012.

  1. I think you know I have a healthy respect (fear?) of primates. I’m not sure I would be comfortable having them loose around me! You have some great photos.

    1. They never get too close to people. They aren’t afraid, but wary, the closest they got is at 2-3m and that was after I waited perched on a fence for 10 minutes or so, listening to the talk at feeding time.
It might be good for you an environment like that, to desensitize through exposure, if that might work for you. 🙂

I loved being around them because they are just like in the wild. They fund conservation projects, which is amazing too.

    1. Yes, it’s so special. They are not interacting with humans, as their children might be released into the wild some day, but they are not bothered by people and stay a few meters away. The place is huge so they have space where to go if they want to be alone, but I think they see humans as entertainment, as we watch TV while we have our dinner. :))
