April roundup

This month I wasn’t as much into blogging as before. Not sure why. Even so, I did blog once or twice each week. That is less than my usual a post every other day. We’ve celebrated Easter, but that seems like a very long time ago.

Tree

We are having a much nicer weather and we are enjoying it. We went for a couple of walks in the park, that is beside the daily walks with the dog. But for those, the weather is not a factor we take into consideration.

Docks in Liverpool

I was busy doing an online course for which I got a fab grade. Basically my score is so high that I already passed (76%), and tomorrow I have the final exam. I hope it will get me over the 90% mark.

Besides this studies, I’ve read a few books. I’ve almost completed my Reading Challenge for 2018: 30 books. At the moment I’ve finished 29! I had no idea I will be able to read so much, but I love it. I’ve been watching less TV, and I’ve been much more demanding with the shows I’m watching. Books that I’ve read in April and that I would like to mention: On Bullshit by Harry G. Frankfurt, The Plundered Planet by Paul Collier, and Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman.
All three books are non-fiction. The first one is written by a Professor of Philosophy at Princeton and it’s about lies and truth. A short and very interesting book. The second one is written by a Professor of Economics at Oxford. I love his books, I’ve read 3 and I still have another one on my to-read list. Collier talks about the natural resources and it’s fascinating. The last one is written by a Nobel Prize winner and it’s a book on the psychology of thinking. I found it amazing and I would recommend it.

Royal Recipes Banana flan

Also, we have a new Prince! How exciting is that? At least for me it is. I love his second name: Arthur, not so keen on the first though. To celebrate this occasion, I’ve made a dessert that Prince William loves: banana flan. The dessert was stunning and I will make it again.

Coffee at Costa

Continuing to talking about food, this month I’ve tried a challenge: being vegan for a week and it went great. During that week, we had our first coffee outside, at Costa, and the latte was vegan. Just amazing!

Next month we have a celebration. I booked tickets for three lectures. I’m looking forward to BlogOn and LightNight. Hopefully the weather will be great and we’ll be able to have more activities outside. I hope we can play more with Festus in the garden and maybe we can have a BBQ.

What did you do this month? Something special you’d like to share? What are your plans for next month?
