Kew Gardens Hotel and Restaurant is a place where we spent a night, had dinner, and also breakfast. It was such a wonderful experience that I’ve decided to write a review for it. The location is great, near Kew, but in a place where the parking, if one can find a spot, is free for the night. It was really great as we were staying only a night, so it worked perfectly. The building is old and beautiful and the decor is really great. The staff in the restaurant was fantastic too.
Despite the rooms being on top of the restaurant and pub, it was not noisy.
We had a nice looking room, with a balcony, which must be amazing in the summer time.
I loved this desk. It is such an unusual kind of desk/table to have in a hotel room, but it was perfect. In a picture above you can see properly the chair, which is the right one for this type of desk.
After checking the menu in our room, we went to the restaurant.
The decor in the restaurant is lovely. It was rather busy, but we had a late dinner, as we drove from Liverpool, so I could take some pictures after the rest of the guests left.
We’ve decided to order 2 starters and 2 side dishes and share them. We also had a dessert to share and all the food was lovely.
Ssamjang pulled mushroom, sourdough crumpet, spring onion, coriander was one of the starters. I only had sweet crumpets, but this dish convinced me that savoury crumpets are just as lovely if not even better. We both loved this dish. The mushrooms were nice, the sauce was nice, but the crumpet was the star of the dish without any doubt.
Beetroot hummus, crematta, crispy chickpeas, sourdough flatbread was the second starter. It was very good and the crispy chickpeas made a difference.
Charred sweet heart cabbage was great, a side dish that I enjoyed a lot. It’s the second time I have charred cabbage and I’m loving it. I should make at home too.
We were full after this wonderful spread.
Cherry, almond and coconut crumble, with a plant based vanilla bean custard, was the dessert we wanted. They also had vegan ice cream, but the crumble was so much better for this time of year. We both enjoyed it very much.
For breakfast they only had a vegan option, but it was very good. The pancakes were served with coconut yoghurt, maple syrup, and fruits. We also had unlimited coffee/tea and juice. I was very happy with it.
There are doggy treats for their 4-legged guests, which is lovely.
