Amiens Cathedral is one of the 2 attractions in Amiens I saw on my way back from Paris. This cathedral is stunning. It was built in the 13th century. During 2 years of the French Revolutions it sustained damage as people looted and destroyed churches all over the country. From early 1800s the restoration started and in 1981 the cathedral was declared a UNESCO heritage site.
I shared pictures from it and collages with details of the gorgeous rood screens.

That really is a beautiful cathedral. It looks huge and there is so much to see inside! x

Gothic architecture is really a bit too ornate for my taste, but that doesn’t keep me from appreciating its beauty and workmanship. These are lovely photos and I’m glad you included so many of the details.

I prefer gothic architecture, maybe because it is so different than the churches I saw as a child in Romania.
