UPDATE!! 11 May 2024! Benji has decided to include both eggs and chicken in his new savoury buns. This is not a vegan business any more, which of course is relevant if, like me, you go out of your way to support them. As today, from my point of view they lost their USP. They were also rude and deleted my comment in which I mentioned that this move is disappointing.
I will not be buying from them again for 3 reasons:
1. I was travelling to get buns from them. We would park our car for the day in a nearby car park when we were on a day trip to London and we would get buns before or after our trip. Now I will not specifically go to that car park because it was handy for the day but not the only option.
2. They have no longer an USP. I can buy vegan options from any restaurant or food place in UK (or at least from 99.99%).
3. They deleted my comment (alongside others) for no reason than to appear they have support for their new buns (none of the comments were positive, of course, as the people following them were vegans, but none of the comments that I saw were in any way rude or inappropriate, just people expressing their disappointment).
I heard Benji’s story and wanted to support him, so I went all the way to Ealing to try his buns. These are amazing, so now we are stopping there if we are going to London by car. Benji’s Buns is a 100% vegan bakery with the most amazing buns. I shared pictures of what we got, at different times.
Benji’s story is so wonderful, you can read it on their website. Food and baking help him recover after an illness.

This is one is always in their menu, the Banoffee bun. It is so yummy. They also have drinks.

The bakery is not big, it’s take away. There are some cafes nearby that are happy for people to have their buns there if they order something from them too. It’s a well known cafe-chain. Otherwise, you can get the bun(s) and the drinks and sit outside if take away is not working for you.

The buns are huge! On the right is one of their special buns. They have special buns, for a limited time only.

This gorgeous one is an Ube bun. They also had the strawberries and cream one for the coronation, see below. They had a Matcha bun too, and now their special bun is an Apricot custard one. I’d love to try that, but I’m not heading to London anytime soon unfortunately.

Benji’s Buns can be found in Unit 2, 11 Oak Road W5 3SS, Ealing Broadway, West London. It’s very close to the Ealing Broadway tube station, a few minutes walk.

WOW!!! They are such amazingly large buns! I love the story! That’s lovely you travelled to go and try them! I must tell people I know who live near there about it!x
Being gluten-free means these types of things are generally out of my reach, but these do look delicious!

Those look SO good!! 😋 I love the fact it’s totally vegan, so you don’t have to determine which ones you can have when visiting.
Thanks for sharing the link.
