Our visit to Knowsley Safari Park was lovely as so many animals were very close to the road. I shared photos taken with the camera and the phone to emphasise how close they were. I loved it! Don’t miss the back-scratch collage.

This is just fabulous, Anca. I would love to take in this experience. We don’t have anything like that near us. Oh, those big cats! My very favorites!
It seems your visit was lovely. The animals are lovely. Love your photographs, especially those of lions.
It’s great that the animals were so close to the road.
So many great up close and personal shots! Is the blue bucket something used in feeding the lions? There sure are a lot of puncture marks in it!
It’s funny seeing the bird perched on the camel. We have cattle egrets that like to graze with our cows (eating bugs) and sometimes perch on their backs.

The blue bucket, although it’s more a barrel as it’s huge is a toy for them. :)) I don’t think they put any food in it because I saw them getting their meal once and they were fed in their nighttime enclosure. It might be that it’s better to fed them where they sleep and not where the cars are, for the safety of the visitors.
Lions had a ball too at one point. There are lion toys, I saw a company who makes them in US, for zoos and safari parks. And other specially designed toys for wildlife too.
