Organica. Vegan restaurant in Lviv

Organica is a new and vegan restaurant in Lviv. I found out about it after a fellow volunteer mentioned this restaurant opened. It is a bit far from where the volunteer dinners are, so I went on my own for lunch instead. The food was so good. I will definitely go there again. The food is fancy and so delicious.

Organica outside

The restaurant is on the ground floor of a lovely new building. There are a couple of other restaurants nearby, so it looks like a good location. It is very close to public transport, so that’s also a plus.

Organica - decor

When I was there a few other customers were enjoying food and drinks, so I could snap pictures before some arrived and after others left.

Aubergines Fries

I tried the aubergines Fries – diced aubergines, breaded and deep-fried, then tossed with sweet and sour soy sauces, and organic ketchup. Served with tomato lekvar, garnished with dukkah. These were so good. I would get these as a starter next time too.

Miso Barley Risotto with Grilled Tofu

For mains I had Miso Barley Risotto with Grilled Tofu – risotto from pearl barley, add vegetable oil, soy cream, miso paste, and white mushroom powder. Served with grilled tofu cheese. Garnished with red olive oil with paprika and microgreens. As for drinks, I went for a lavender Kefit Cola – a version of kombucha. The risotto was delightful and not too spicy. I enjoyed it a lot. The tofu was nicely cooked too.

Desserts

I took a slice of Medivnyk honey cake [bottom left] at home, as I was full. It was made from organic chia seeds, rice and corn flour, and cane sugar. The cream is made from plant-based milk and agave syrup.

All the food was delicious and healthy. In the menu there were a few other dishes that I really wanted to try: Baked Sweet Potato with Coconut Labneh and Pickled Fennel; Mushroom broth; Tempeh steak; Tempeh shashlik. On top of that, their desserts look so good that I would also like to try at least 3-4 more. The prices are not low, which is to be expected considering how wonderful the décor is and how complicated and high-end the dishes are. The price reflects the quality and I think it is worth it.

  1. That does look wonderful – so nice when good vegan food is front and centre rather than the “oh, we offer one dish to tick all finicky boxes”.
V is very disappointed as our local grocery looks to be phasing out the big vegan push that they embraced earlier in the year.

  2. It looks like a lovely place and the food is beautiful. I’m glad it tastes as good as it looks! I would love to try that Miso Barley Risotto. Barley is something I don’t eat that often, but always enjoy when I do.

      1. Like you and Kelly, I don’t eat Barley very often but my sister makes an amazing Barley salad with Pomegranate seeds which I always love when I eat it. I didn’t like it as a child.
The restaurant looks super. I would be intrigued to try that Risotto and ANY of the Tempeh dishes!! I’m glad you found another great place!
