The Outcrops was a special exhibition at the Gunpowder Tower in Lviv. I will share a few pictures and a few facts on both the exhibition and the Gunpowder Tower.

Gunpowder Tower is the last building remaining which was part of the defensive system of medieval Lviv. It is beautifully preserved. It dates back to 1556, as it was built to protect the arsenal. It fell into disrepair, but it was saved and now it hosts beautiful exhibitions.

The building is stunning and it adds to the beauty of the art which is presented within its walls.

On the ground floor there is a place to relax and buy some books, like the ones in the picture below.

There is also a 3D map of Lviv and I had a look on it, identifying a few of the place I’ve been to, such as the Opera.

One of these exhibitions is The Outcrops by Max Vitik. He is a geologist-artist and combines scientific knowledge with art. I loved his paintings. Vitik was born in Lviv. He has worked in various countries besides Ukraine, such as USA, Egypt, and the Netherlands. I will share a few more pictures with his gorgeous art pieces. Enjoy!

What a beautiful building and such an interesting place to visit. I love the art work.

There is so much to like about this! To start with, you captured a lovely shot of the outside with the dappled lighting from the trees. I enjoy 3-D maps and the geology themed artwork is beautiful.
