Two Exhibitions in Liverpool

At this moment there are two exhibitions in Liverpool, one in the Parish Church of Liverpool and another one at the Liverpool Hope University. I will only share 2 pictures from them, with many more photos being shared on my Instagram account. These two are similar, albeit smaller, to the one I talked about last month, in Portsmouth. You can read about it here.

These two exhibitions are organised by volunteers who spent time in Ukraine, doing volunteering work there, in partnership with two artists who are doing art healing classes for children who are internally displaced. All the children are still in Ukraine, most of them internally displaced, and all of them affected by the war. My husband and I helped with the display and are there for the special events and also spending a bit of time, chatting with visitors if they are interested in that.

If you are in Liverpool, please consider visiting one of these two events. If you are not in Liverpool, this is the website of the charity. Read there more and check for future events. If you have 10 euros to spare, a donation to support the project would be amazing. The money is spent on supplies, we, the volunteers, are funding everything else ourselves.

This is the exhibition in the Parish Church of Liverpool, a well known central church which is often involved in various events in the city. The exhibition is enhanced by a lovely local poet who is doing poetry writing and reading, inspired by the paintings made by the children. I am so very happy to be a part of this event and interact with people who care so much and are so passionate about doing good.

The second, they are happening at the same time, so there is not a specific order, is at Liverpool Hope University. The exhibition is part of a festival – Angel Field – which celebrates the cultural diversity of different peoples. It is a wonderful festival and I hope all visitors will spend a bit of time looking at the paintings and reading the descriptions, thinking about the children who are benefiting so much from these classes.
