Versailles is the kind of place that needs no introduction. So, I will share a lot of pictures from Versailles, including some collages to cut down on how many pictures I share in a single post. From my point of view Versailles is a must see if visiting Paris, even if it is not in Paris, but a few kilometres out. I would suggest allowing 6-7 hours for the visit if you want to see the gardens as well. Enjoy the pictures. All 35 of them!

Thanks for this excellent photo post! I’ve visited the grounds, but never been inside the palace. The interiors are incredible. My first thought on looking at some of the canopies over the beds was “can you imagine having to dust those?”

Considering how much the canopies were used, as Louis XIV would have his levee each morning and the going-to-bed ceremony each evening, I’m not sure they were too dusty. :))
Just beautiful! I am not well travelled or am good at geography but even I have heard of Versailles! Looking through the photos I am thinking Wow! Wow! Wow! The painted ceilings are my favourite. x

I loved the ceilings too.
