What we did not expect when we adopted Volya is that she will like to travel. For a cat is quite unusual. We took her out a few times, including on a longer walk in Festival Gardens to mark Father’s Day. Her new carrier has a handmade tit I bought from the Yarn bombing event in Formby. It has the Ukrainian colours and both her carriers and her toy basket have decorations in yellow & blue.
She was in her new carrier or, only for a few minutes, in my arms. While she is used to the harness and lead, she is a cat and might still manage to escape from it, if she is scared, for example. So, harness and lead in our garden, in arms or in her carrier otherwise. Enjoy the pictures!

Ah, look at her peering out curiously!!!! I love seeing her. She has a lot of fur for this hot weather, how are you managing to keep her cool? Also, does she say much when she is out? My experience of cats in carriers is a very focused mew full of upper harmonics in the voice!
I bought a cooling mat for dogs and I put that in her carrier. She likes that mat a lot, so it was a good idea. There isn’t something similar advertised for cats, for some reason.
She is very talkative, but depends on the situation. It took a bit of time to figure out what is best for her and I discovered that she likes to have me close. I stood with her in my arms for a couple of hours on a drive and she was so relaxed she went by herself in her travelling carrier and stood there with the flap open. We are still discovering what she needs and how she feels more comfortable.
Oh, that’s so sweet, and unusual – you’re very lucky, I think any of our cats would have a nervous breakdown if I tried to take them travelling! Volya is a cutie.
She’s beautiful! I love that she enjoys travelling with you.

I love that you take her along with you. Lizzie hates to go into her carrier but once she gets there, she’s a good rider. The harness is a different matter. Let’s just say we’re not going on a walk. More like a roll on the ground! She’s such a love, your Volya.
What fun for Volya to go out on adventures with you. The cat carrier is fantastic especially as you can carry is just like a bag.

She looks so content… and curious! I love seeing her. Is she very vocal?

She talks constantly. If I greet her with “privit” [hello], she will meow in reply, 2-3 times a day. She doesn’t reply to “dobri den” [good day] or similar greetings. I should write a post about her talking.
