volya

I just love this picture of Volya. We had a photoshoot for Ukraine’s Flag Day – 23rd, which is a day before Independence Day of Ukraine. I shared this online and with friends and it was a very popular picture of her, very patriotic as well.
She is cute. I also love how we took the picture. My husband was keeping the flag up, moving it up or down, Volya was on the table in the living room, and I had my phone in one hand and a treat in the other moving it around so she would follow the treat. We had use quite a few treats to get this picture and it was so much fun.

Breakfast

We took a day off this month and had a lovely time, we enjoyed breakfast at our favourite vegan restaurant – The Vibe.

Liverpool

After having that delicious breakfast, we went to the arcades for a short while, before doing a bus tour and a ferry tour of Mersey. It was lovely to be a tourist in our own city. I will make a blog covering the bus and ferry tours. We had pizza for lunch and drinks in the prison. I will visit the prison pub again and then make a review of it. It’s splendid.

flowers in vase

Before leaving Lviv I was given a casing that didn’t pass the quality check, so it couldn’t be used for the power banks. I wanted to use it as a vase for my dried flowers and it looks gorgeous in my bookcase. My Ukrainian friend liked it very much.

I like having flowers in the house, so having a nice bouquet of dried flowers is really good, as it’s always there. I also have sunflowers given to me by my husband. Unexpectedly, I received a bouquet from a neighbour which I helped with something small. It was so wonderful, as I didn’t think it was much, but it seems for that person it meant more than I realised. I was so happy to receive it.

timber

Might look unorthodox, but this is how we make “notes” of what kind of timber we needed for the porch project, basically photographing me pointing towards the right one. While we are a bit far from finishing the porch, it’s almost entirely self-built, and done after work,

Volya in a box

A couple more pictures of Volya, one with her enjoying a box. We kept that for 2-3 days, this seems to be the fun-expectancy of a box for her. Below is her in the garden. She is staying comfortably, looking around, listening to the birds and watching the bugs. We need to change the garden, add some sitting places around the garden, as she can stay there for long and we can’t always sit on the grass.

  1. Volya is such a beautiful cat; she looks like she enjoyed her trip outside.
I’ve been on the ferry tour a few times and always enjoy it. There used to be a U-boat museum on the way round, but I think that’s closed now, which is a shame as it was really interesting.
Good luck with the porch project.

    1. That U-boat museum was very interesting. I visited it many years ago. It’s a shame it closed, I would have liked to see it again.

  2. I love how much Volya looks like our cat Pushkins who wears a South African badge on her collar which is where she comes from. My camera roll is full of photos like yours with things we need. Well done with the porch building. We go to Birkenhead a lot but never into Liverpool, we must do that on one of our trips.

    1. I think it’s lovely that you’ve included the badge from South Africa on her collar.

The ferry over Mersey can be taken from Seacombe too, if that’s easier for you to get. It’s nice and worth doing.

  3. That really is a great photo of Volya. It’s funny hearing all that went into the photo shoot. 😂 There was a time when I took a holiday photo each year of my younger two children with our house dogs (two rottweilers and a beagle-mix) and they always knew they were expected to look good since I had to focus all my attention on getting the dogs to cooperate!

    1. It’s more difficult to take pictures with her than it was with Festus. Festus was used to look at us when we had the phone/camera in our hands. As a puppy I would give him treats and he learned fast. It was difficult to take any other kind of pictures, beside him sitting and looking at the camera for that reason. 😂
Volya is moving constantly, so I need to take 20 pictures and see if I have a good one afterwards.

  4. Ah that’s a lovely picture of Volya. Good luck with getting the porch finished. We could do with one on our house to stop so many doors getting wrecked
