Challenges Life

Goals for 2025

As usual, at the beginning of the year, I am making a list of goals, which are very similar to the ones in the previous year, but I still want to make it and continue to try to achieve all the goals. I will keep the 2 goals I never seem to make – sewing and sharing new recipes – and, who knows? Maybe I am going to do them this year. In 2024 I had a “sundry” with things I didn’t include in the other goals, so I might have the same this year, but it’s not a “goal” in itself.

Goals for 2025: Blogs

1. Post regularly. My aim is to continue to post regularly on Coffee and Books and ancaslifestyle. On the book blog I want to review all the books I’m reading. As for ancaslifestyle I am hoping for 60 posts, which is about half of what I did last year, so it’s not a lot of pressure in any way. I will also continue to do my monthly round-ups. I enjoy those very much.

2. Reviews for Vegan or Vegetarian restaurants. Last year I wanted to do 6 and did them. This year I’m aiming for 4 reviews of restaurants in UK, and 4 round-ups or vegan-in-country/city sort of posts.

3. Reviews. In the last 2 years I’ve set up a low number for reviews and did more, 9 and 7. But this time I will continue with the low number of 4.

4. Taste the World. I will aim for 2 recipes this year.

5. Read the World. As I am reading, it gets harder and harder to find authors from various countries, which are translated into English, at an affordable price (I don’t want to spend £30 for a fiction book I might not have read unless for the challenge). Most of these are not available at the libraries. Last year I wanted 4 and did 4, this year I’m aiming for 2.

Goals for 2025: Personal and Travel

1. Sew. This is what I always write in my goals. Hopefully this is the year in which I am going to sew something.

2. Read 89 Books. This number was what I aimed and did for the last years, so I will keep it at 89. It is, on average, 7 or 8 books a month, so it’s not too demanding.

3. Visit 3 new places in UK. I want to visit 3 new places this year and I already booked one trip for February to a place I haven’t been before, so that should be achievable.

4. Visit a new country. I want to go to a country I haven’t been to before. That being said, I would like to go to a country I’ve been to recently (France, Poland, Italy, Ukraine), and see other cities.

5. Visit 4 stately homes or castles. Last year I wanted to visit 4 and did 6, including castles. This year I’m aiming for 4, including castles, but I might surpass the goal once more. The idea is to look for places I haven’t been before or I’ve been over a decade ago. Stately homes, unless part of the National Trust or English Heritage, are not easy to visit as they have limited opening times and usually on weekdays.

6. Visit 9 museums. Last year I visited 10 museums although my goal was of 6. So, I want to push myself and considering that I already booked a trip where I will visit at least a couple of museums, aiming for 9 is not too much.

7. Go to 4 special exhibitions. This was a goal I had for 2 years and managed to do it. The special exhibitions need to be special, big enough or on very interesting topics. I’ve been to a special exhibition a few days ago, but it wasn’t interesting enough to either blog about it or count it towards this goal.

  1. Starting with my next post — probably this later this week — I’ll be featuring our road trip and visiting three historic homes — Basildon Park, Snowshill Manor and Hughenden. Hope you’ll check in. Your goals are ambitious but I’ve seen what you can do before — and I’ve no doubt you’ll achieve them all!

    1. Thank you. I am going to check the posts, of course. Lately I’ve been reading a few posts at one time, have a break, and do again that. It seems that this approach works better for me.

    1. That’s a good idea. I have made a few things, but that was years ago and I need to start from the beginning as I don’t remember much.

  2. I look forward to seeing what you manage this year. I live vicariously through your posts of places and homes/castles. If it’s somewhere I’ve been, it brings back nice memories. I also hope you post some recipes. I always think of you when I make the baked bean hummus!
