CATstravangaza Liverpool

CATstravangaza Liverpool was an event earlier this month. It is a small event, but it is so worth going to one. There are a lot of breeders happy to talk about their cats and there are presentations of different breeds, all sort of things on sale for both cat-owners and cat-lovers.

This is a new breed of cats – Transylvanian Cats. In the picture is the Romanian Wolfie. This breed was discovered recently and it is now in the process of being recognised by the leading international registries.

Transylvanian Cats is a natural breed, native to the Carpathian Mountains. The cats have what is called the karpati pattern coat and werewolf type features. Due to its location, the cats are found mainly in Romania, with some in Ukraine and in Hungary. I loved the look and the temperament of the cats. After watching him and learning about the breed I am sure that, when I buy a pure breed cat, it will be a Transylvanian.

    1. I am thinking of getting a cat, a rescue from Ukraine. But I would love a Transylvanian too, maybe in a few years. There are very few kittens anyway, as there are just a few breeding pairs.
