Challenges Life

Goals for 2026

I am doing pretty well with these goals, with a exception – sewing – which is proving to be impossible to do year after year. Despite this, I like to set up some goals and keep a track of them throughout the year, making me more inclined to complete more things from the list than I would have had without the list.

Goals for 2026: Blogs

1. Post regularly. I want to continue posting regularly on Coffee & Books and ancaslifestyle. As usual, on the book blog I want to review all the books I’m reading. On ancaslifestyle I am hoping for 70 posts, less that I did last year, so it should be fine.

2. Reviews for Vegan or Vegetarian restaurants. This year I’m aiming for 6 reviews of restaurants or round-ups or vegan-in-country/city sort of posts.

3. Reviews. The goal is 4, as I am not as excited about this kind of posts, maybe next year I will just let go of this goal.

4. Taste the World. Another year with 2 recipes as goals. This is one of those goals I’m struggling with, but I hope this year it will be different.

5. Read the World. This year I’m aiming for 2 books from countries I haven’t read from before. It’s getting harder and harder to find books for this goal.

Goals for 2026: Personal and Travel

1. Read 59 Books. After years of 89 books, last year I lowered [mid-year] my goal to 70. In 2026 I am hoping for 59, as I don’t want to be pressured with it.

2. Visit a new country and a new city. Last year I couldn’t complete this goal, so I am setting it up again for this year. I want to go to a country I haven’t been to before, which are quite a few in Europe.
I would also like to visit a new city from a country I’ve been to before, from which I am thinking of: France, Poland, Italy, Ukraine, Germany, or the Netherlands. I don’t want to go back to Austria or Hungary, and neither plan to visit Bulgaria.

3. Visit 4 new places in the UK. I want to visit 4 new places in the UK in 2026.

4. 30-a-week for 5 weeks. I want to eat 30 different fruit and veggies in a week and do that 5 times throughout the year.
This might sound really difficult, but it’s not if there is the will do keep track of them. I made a list with 70 fruits and veggies that are available at the supermarkets – fresh, canned, frozen. On the first week of January I managed 21. See the list I made below:

5. Visit 2 stately homes or castles. Last year I couldn’t do the 4 I was aiming for, so I will aim for only 2 this year.

6. Visit 9 museums. I like the idea of visiting 9 museums and last year I sort of did it.

7. Go to 4 special exhibitions. This was a goal I had for 2 years and managed to do it.

8. Sew. This is what I always write in my goals. Hopefully this is the year in which I am going to sew something.

9. Go with Volya to 6 cafes/pubs. She likes that and we’ve been with her once this year, a few days ago.

  1. Great goals and they seem doable! I just checked your list and I think I’ve eaten 25 different veg in the last week or so! Not all weeks are as good as this!

  2. Oh goodness – great idea for the goal setting. I tend to overwhelm myself and probably should do the same. Main goal right now is get the house ready for sale and find something else!

  3. This should be a fun year of posts for us to read based on your goals. The fruit and veggie challenge looks fun. I don’t think I can get all of those (and don’t know a few), but will try to eat more myself.
I’m looking forward to a new year here!

    1. Which ones you don’t know? Before making the list I had no idea that there are so many fruits and veggies available at local supermarkets. I didn’t include the unusual ones from the international shop (Asian veggies).
