We’ve celebrated Volya’s 7th birthday yesterday. We don’t know when is her real birthday, but this is what the doctor wrote in her pet passport. What we know is that she is 7. The doctor from the animal shelter, the Polish doctor who gave her the tablet so she can travel to the UK, and 2 British vets said last year that she is about 6-7. The whole idea of celebrating a birthday is to mark the passing of time and, with the exception of Festus, I never knew exactly the date, so just went with one that makes sense. Celebrating a multiple of 365 or celebrating a multiple of 365 + something else makes just as much sense.

We wanted to take her to a cafe, but decided to go to Starbucks to see if they have a pup-cup. They had. We got our drinks, she got her *spiciest named* pup-cup. Why puppuccino and not meowcchiato?
The lady who handed us the coffee had a quick peek in the car, but she was in her carrier at that point.

We had no idea if she will like it. We tried giving her a bit of vegan cream and she didn’t want it. She likes vegan cheese very much and always wants more, as we give her very little, as a treat.
Unsure at first, she tried a bit and loved it! She had as much as she could without getting her head into the cup. She is too much of a princess to eat like that. We gave her a bit more at home, with a teaspoon. I think she would have had all of it, but of course we didn’t give her so much.
As she only eats meat and doesn’t like any veggies, she had a sugar rush, only from the bit of syrup in the cream. She ran and played. She was so cute. It only lasted for a short while, but she was clearly excited about everything.

At lunchtime we gave her the piece of fish which was her “cake”, with a candle in a similar colour as the fish.

I thought she would be afraid of the candle, but no, she wasn’t bothered at all. She didn’t like the smell and I blew the candle, but liked the smell of the fish-cake.

She loved the fish and had about half of it. I put the rest in the fridge for today’s lunch. She also had a fish and seaweed in jelly can, which she ate about half of, the rest is for today.

We had some human cake. We bought a chocolate cake (vegan) and sprayed it with pink shimmer. She is so “pink” and “girly”, it was the only colour that worked for her. It’s also why we got these cute pink paper balloons. I think these are great for cats, as they can’t break and that makes them suitable for a little one who might be scared by loud noises.

This is the gift for her: a cardboard chaise longue. She likes it, as you can see in the following pics.

She did her manicure on the chaise longue and also had a bit of a nibble of the armrests.

It was such a lovely day and she has enjoyed it a lot. She loved the meowcchiato and the drive to the cafe and back home, she loved the food, and loves the gift as well. As for the balloons, she pushed them a bit, but they are too big for her to properly play with.
